2011 2nd Annual Oak Ridge Boys Rally at Gaylord Opryland was an exciting experience! This was my dream… and I got to mark Number 2 off my Life List/ Bucket List. The ORB, their family and staff really showed they know how to throw a ‘down home’ party. The whole weekend was jammed packed with entertainment, activities, and the beautiful scenery of Gaylord Opryland.
Casual, memory making fun was the theme for the weekend with the boys. That means mingling with the crouds, bluejeans and layed-back conversations. Beginning with the reception and their Opry performance at the Ryman on Friday, to the Gospel Brunch on Sunday, the Oak Ridge Boys lived up to their reputation of ‘Good Ole Country Boys’. If you ever get the chance to go to their rally …. it is something you will never regret!

We also took some time to go to The Grand Ole Opry House to do number 1 on my list. I stood on the circle. Yup! The same circle where greats like Patsy Cline, Roy Acuff, Allan Jackson and the infamous Miss Minnie Pearl once stood! There is nothing like standing on that stage! The tour includes backstage and many themed dressing rooms. You even can get your pic taken with instruments and The Opry Mike with the famous barn behind you. Well worth the money to take this tour. The rebuilding of the Opry after the flood Last May is an accomplishment that all who participated in should be proud.

Nashville is full of things to do. If you are able you should see Gaylord Opryland. This nine acre flagship of the Gaylord Resorts is filled with Great Dining like Ravello (Italian) and Solario (bold flavorful Mexican cuisine). So many bars, clubs, and shops to enjoy. Then just take a scenic walk around the beautiful gardens, ponds and waterfalls available for your enjoyment. Don’t forget to take a flatboat ride on the river flowing through the Delta section of Gaylord Opryland. Understand that you will spend alot there but this was beautiful place to experience. I can say I have never seen anyplace like it.
