Honey Grab The Sled, Were Having A Coffee-Mate ‘Flavor Friday’ Party and Giveaway!

Seems as though the Mother Nature is not going to cooperate with my Flavor Friday Coffee-Mate Game Party. Stupid weatherman said more than a foot of snow and ice with temps in the Brrrrrrrr’s. Well I am a tad bit stubbern and I have been organizing for the past couple of weeks.

I am one of the lucky people ( Thanks Coffee-Mate) who was chosen to have one of their Free Flavor Friday Parties. The Party supplies arrived and they are fantastic. I recieved a very nice poker set in a case with Coffee-Mate cards and Cranium. Included with the pack are lots of coupons for free Coffee-Mate, some Nescafe Tasters Choice and Coffee-Mate samples, napkins and cups.

Free Flavor Friday is an event you can participate in also. Just like Coffee-Mate on Facebook then on Friday at 9am pst Be one of the first 100,000 and get a coupon for your own free flavor of Coffee-Mate. What a great way to try one of the new flavors in their Cafe Collection. Cafe Collection consists of three coffeehouse blends – Caramel Macchiato, White Chocolate Caramel Latte, and Café Latte. Lets Play Poker!

So back to the party… I am making coffee filter coasters, a coffee poker party gift bag, and Coffee Marshmellow Treats. Heres the recipe…

It is worth the time !!!!

3 packages of unflavored gelatin
1 cup ice water, divided into 1/2 cups
1.5 cups granulated sugar
…1 cup light corn syrup
1/4 tea salt (coarse or sea salt)
1 tablespoon coffee extract (or 1 teaspoon vanilla)
you can add food coloring if you want

Coffee Marshmellow Treat

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup cornstarch

1. In the bowl of your mixer with the whisk attachment, empty the 3 packets of gelatin and add 1/2 cup ice water.
In a sauce pan mix the 1.5 cups sugar, the other 1/2 cup ice water, 1 cup corn syrup and 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt. Put the l…id on and bring it to a boil.
3. Remove the lid and let it cook until it reaches 240 degrees. Temperature is important with this.
When it hits 240 degrees immediately remove it and pour it into the mixer on top of the gelatin. Start the mixer at a slow speed
5. That is going to be whisking for a while, so prepare your pan. use a brownie pan and cover it in plastic wrap. Coat the plastic wrap with a bunch of non-stick cooking spray. In a bowl mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1/2 cup cornstarch… and generously sprinkle it around. Pick the pan up and shake it to coat the top and sides. Pour the excess out and then back in, make sure it is coated really well because your marshmallows will be sticky, and if there’s too much you can always brush it off later when the marshmallows are done
Ok, back to your mixer. The whole mixing process will take about 8-12 minutes. Your marshmallows mixture is going to about double or triple in size.
You will know it is done when it stops growing. At that point add your 1 tablespoon of coffee extract or your teaspoon of vanilla or whatever flavoring you want to use and mix one more minute.
Pour it in your prepared pan:
Smooth out the top:
And coat with a bunch more of the powdered sugar/cornstarch mixture:
Let it sit overnight (or at least 4-6 hours)
Remove from pan and cut.

I want to give away my own Coffee-Mate Flavor Friday Pack since I am sure most of you will not make it to my party. so here it it… ONE lucky reader will recieve

So What do you call A Dream? The Oak Ridge Boys, Grand Ole Opry, And Gaylord OpryLand!!!

Yeah, I'm Grinning!!!!

2011 2nd Annual Oak Ridge Boys Rally at Gaylord Opryland was an exciting experience! This was my dream… and I got to mark Number 2 off my Life List/ Bucket List. The ORB, their family and staff really showed they know how to throw a ‘down home’ party. The whole weekend was jammed packed with entertainment, activities, and the beautiful scenery of Gaylord Opryland.

Casual, memory making fun was the theme for the weekend with the boys. That means mingling with the crouds, bluejeans and layed-back conversations. Beginning with the reception and their Opry performance  at the Ryman on Friday, to the Gospel Brunch on Sunday, the Oak Ridge Boys lived up to their reputation of ‘Good Ole Country Boys’.  If you ever get the chance to go to their rally …. it is something you will never regret!

I’m pretty sure we won’t be asked back for an audition! LOL

We also took some time to go to The Grand Ole Opry House to do number 1 on my list. I stood on the circle. Yup! The same circle where greats like Patsy Cline, Roy Acuff, Allan Jackson and the infamous Miss Minnie Pearl once stood! There is nothing like standing on that stage! The tour includes backstage and many themed dressing rooms. You even can get your pic taken with instruments and The Opry Mike with the famous barn behind you. Well worth the money to take this tour. The rebuilding of the Opry after the flood Last May is an accomplishment that all who participated in should be proud.

One of the many waterfalls at Gaylord Opryland

Nashville is full of things to do. If you are able you should see Gaylord Opryland. This nine acre flagship of the Gaylord Resorts is filled with Great Dining like Ravello (Italian) and Solario (bold flavorful Mexican cuisine). So many bars, clubs, and shops to enjoy. Then just take a scenic walk around the beautiful gardens, ponds and waterfalls available for your enjoyment. Don’t forget to take a flatboat ride on the river flowing through the Delta section of Gaylord Opryland. Understand that you will spend alot there but this was beautiful place to experience. I can say I have never seen anyplace like it.

It is my hope that you will enjoy accomplishing your dreams on your Life List/Bucket List as I have mine.
Also How old is the Oak Ridge Boys Hit “Elvira”?

ATTENTION> Just found out Gaylord is giving away a hotel Getaway. Includes airfare, 2 nights, and breakfast buffets for two. Only one online entry per person per email address per day. Click HERE for online entry form.
