‘Lysterium’ Book I – Fantasy Fiction Review and Giveaway!

Secrets! They are private and kept hidden. Some secrets are mysterious and beyond ordinary understanding. Liv Worthington’s entire life has been shrouded in secrets. A normal life, a normal job as a successful newspaper editor, and now secrets will completely unravel Liv’s comfortable life.

Upon meeting Wes, a handsome stranger who has been following her, Liv must open the door to the truth of her Mother’s death, a long held family secret. A door that leads her to her Grandmother and the fairy tales she has heard her whole life. Fairy tales of her Grandmother being from another world. As the secrets are revealed, Liv is forced to become the heroine and battle the evil that effects not only Lysterium, but her own world as well.

Bethany Shehorn devises an artistic and extravagant world for her debut entrance into the fantasy literary scene. From the beginning – through to the end, ‘Lysterium’ will leave you with visions of a mystical fantasy world that envelopes you at every turn. I can really see this as a movie. As a matter of fact, I fully expect too. I love her forshadowing which leads you towards something, then you are overwhelmed when you reach it. Even knowing this was book I, I was almost furious when I reached the end of this book. I wanted more!

Bethany was born in Scottsdale, Arizona and began writing at the age of nine. She published a childrens book in 2005. She is a multi-talented singer/songwriter, makeup artist and photographer. She and her husband, Matt, reside in Scottsdale with their houseful of rescued animals, which probably explains why she is also a veterinary technician.

Bethany is a friendly person and I have enjoyed our emails to each other while working on this post. She states, “As far as my goals go, I’m seriously praying that I will be picked up by a large publisher and contracted for the other four books in the series. My goal is to try and attain this in a year, I don’t know if that’s possible but I’m working so hard and doing what I can to get the word out on my book.” She also said, “In five years I would love to see my book world wide, and very successful. I’m sure that’s everyone’s answer haha:) I’m a big dreamer, go big or go home! I want this so much I can taste it, and I’ve worked tirelessly for a year now. Hopefully it happens.”

I could go on and on about Lysterium, but I am afraid I would give it all away and I want you to enjoy the experience with Liv, Grandma, the evil Umaro, and Wes (hmmm…who can we get to play him in the movie?).

Lysterium is available at iUniverse.com in paperback, hardcover, and ebook.

Oh! I have a SECRET… shhhh! Bethany is currently revising Book II, The Harbor of Lost Ships. Oooops!

With that all said and done, I am proud to announce that Bethany has agreed to give one Espacularaiesa reader an autographed copy of Lysterium.
