Iris And The Dragonflies Book Review!

What is it about 11-year-old Iris that brings the attention of dragonflies? What is it about the dragonflies that attracts and entices this one girl?  ‘Iris and the Dragonflies’ by Rosemary Danielis’ slowly unravels this fantasy tale of an ages old battle of good and evil!

Iris begins to connect with the dragonflies in ways she can hardly believe. She has heard the stories of light and dark. Stories of dragons and their duty as protectors of Mother Earth. Iris also learns that she is an integral part of that light and she must become a protector of the earth too! She has the capability to redeem the balance of man and nature. It is an important task for such a young girl to undertake, but with the help of her friends, she may overcome the obstacles placed before her.

I thought the author was creative in her writing since it was very easy to engross yourself in the story. She clearly and precisely painted a vision of her story world. Though it may seem geared toward the younger generation, I would give this book a ‘thumbs-up’ for readers of all ages.

About the Author

Rosemary Danielis grew up in a part of Montreal, Quebec, Canada that no longer exists. The creek in the woods behind her small apartment is now an industrial development. Rosemary pursued her passion for literature and obtained a degree in English and Communications from McGill University. Rosemary has also written numerous online articles which can be found on her website: “Iris and the Dragonflies” was written for her children who rekindled her love for books and fantastical stories. Rosemary still lives in Montreal, the woods and the creek live on in her heart while the bugs and the flowers thrive in her beautiful garden.
