Soy Candle Cottage Review and Giveaway

Nice dinner for you and your main squeeze, soft music, scented candles lighting up the room. Sounds like romance in the making right! Well let me spoil the mood…if you are using paraffin candles you are filling the room with the same residue output as burning gasoline! I guess that is a party buster.

Since I love burning candles for any reason and I have made a goal to go more natural and organic, I started to do some research. I have found soy candles are better for the environment and my breathing while still providing me with the ambiance and light scents I love. Soy candles burn longer and with less soot than your standard paraffin candles. That paraffin soot not only builds up on the candle jar, but also in the air and on everything in your home.

Now that you have the background, I want to tell you about a great company located in Edmond, Oklahoma. Soy Candle Cottage grew out of the owner’s need for a cleaner candle. After noticing the black dust covering her blinds and furniture, LeAnn and her daughter began making soy candles for their own use. Since soy candles burn longer they had accumulated quite a stock so they started off at the local Farmers Market and grew into the wonderful business they have today.

Soy Candle Cottage has a wide array of soy products to fill your every need.

You can find Soy Aftershave for Men, which is Naturally formulated with Soy Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Vera extract and Vitamin E. They added other oils such as orchid, lavender, rose geranium, and a bit of mint-sage fragrance for a cooling effect.

Also you can find natural Soy Lip Balm Made from hydrogenated soybeans, coconut oil, and a touch of soy wax to provide ‘lasting power’. Firm enough to stay on your lips, but doesn’t have a ‘waxy’ feel.

Soy Candle Cottage has more natural soy products that I can list here. They are much MORE than your normal candle store. LeAnn states, “ In developing this business from the ground up, I have learned so much about how nature provides the very best for our use…the best substitute for chemicals that pollute our homes and affect our skin.” She also added, “ My goal is to offer high quality, natural products for bodies and homes at an affordable price.”

Soy Candle Cottage has generously offered to give one Espacularaiesa reader a soy candle in the scent of readers choice.

Grandma’s Pure and Naturals – Review and Giveaway

Do you remember red wax lips or cinnamon toothpicks or how absolutely rich you felt when you got that nice shiny quarter on allowance day? Do you remember grandma’s lye soap? Well, you might not want to remember the soap if you ever smarted off or told a fib to an adult!!!! If you do remember these things, lets face it… you’re OLD!

All that aside, grandma’s lye soap has stood the test of time and has had a resurgence  of popularity when compared to modern soaps. Grandma’s Pure and Natural, made by Remwood Products Company, is based in Tulsa Oklahoma and they pride themselves in their products. All their products from Grandma’s Lye Soap to the luxurious Grandma’s Winter Hand Soother lotion are made with care, love, and attention to natural pure ingredients.

Their website is full of letters from customers who use their products and have had great benefits from them. It has been reported, as many customers will attest to, that Grandma’s lye Soap eases eczema, psoriasis, insect bites, and a host of allergy and medication related skin problems. This does not suprise me since most soaps in stores today are little more than detergents that leave you with dry tight skin. They contain chemicals like isoprophyl alcohol, diethanolomine or DEA, and butylated hydroxytoluene or BHT which can cause irritation. Grandma’s Lye Soap removes bacteria and other fragments of irritant causing debris without leaving a dried shrinking feeling. Lye soap contains natural oils that help alleviate itching and inflammation.

I recently recieved several products from Grandma’s Pure and Natural to try myself. I always have been a fan of lye soap and was excited to get the chance to try their products. I suffer greatly from dry skin. I have use Grandma’s Lye Soap for two weeks and noticed a huge improvement. My skin is softer and smoother. I also am using their Winter Hand Soother. It presents a lovely silky feel to my skin. Oh how I wish I had known about them a few months ago when I broke out with a case of the Shingles!

Grandma’s Pure and Natural offer not only regular lye soap, but specialty ones as well. Like their Grandma’s Grime Away, touted as the ‘gardner’s best friend’, which is mild yet scrubs dirt and grime away. You might think about Grandma’s Acne bar which contains aloe and oatmeal. A great simple way to achieve acne control, especially if you have a teen in the house. Grandma’s Winter Hand Soother lotion is one of my fav’s.  Contains meadowfoam, jojoba and apricot kernal seed oils, and other natural ingredients. This lotion is not sticky or greasy. Just a small amount will provide relief of dry and chapped hands.

As far as projections  for Grandma’s Pure and Natural, “There are about 55 million people who suffer from skin conditions in the US. I would love to be able to help even 5% of them with the lye soap and lotion” stated Bill Robertson of Remwood Products Company.

Grandma’s Pure and Natural is the first Post in my Oklahoma Highlight Series. The series focuses on home-made natural products created by Oklahoman Entrepreneurs.

Want to try it? Grandma’s Pure and Natural will send one reader a bar of Grandma’s Lye Soap, a bar of Grandma’s Grime Away, and a bottle of Grandma’s Winter Hand Soother lotion.

Heres what you do…

MANDATORY> Go to Grandma’s Pure and Natural and then comment here to tell me something you found you would like to try or that you learned. ( this must be done first before any bonus entry)
